Caught being Cute {Your d’Lifeful Life}
Posted on December 23, 2010
Oh, my two year old… I love her to bits and pieces. She has two volume levels: silent and AT-THE-TOP-OF-HER-LUNGS!
When she is silent, she can hide in any corner of the house and play contentedly to her heart’s delight.
This is where I found her the other night…
She loves “reading” her Bible.
I can’t get enough of this photo!
Isn’t it a great reminder of the REAL reason we celebrate this season and every day?
I wouldn’t have been so quick to grab my camera if I hadn’t been participating in Finding Your {Holiday} JOY!

Tree “Huntin’” d’Lifeful style

This year, for the first time in my life, my family went and got a real tree! I was there to document the adventure. I’ll post a separate post about decorating the tree.
We had a blast! And the house smells amazing!
Stay tuned for more photo of our Christmas festivities.

Your d’Lifeful Life {Memphis, TN~ Custom Portraits}

Yesterday I had an amazing time photographing two lovely people who I have known for a while yet seldom get to hang out with. Jon and Mary Catherine Schallert are amazing!
Since the idea of an urban session and a “rustic” session appealed to both of them, we came up with a new type of session:
Your d’Lifeful Life
Over a 2 hour period, the 3 of us drove to places that are important to the Schallerts and their life here in Memphis.
First stop, their home:
Next Stop: the site of their church meetings
***Mary Catherine would like to make it perfectly clear that the types of “exotic gifts” sold here aren’t the “bad kind”.*** ;P
Next stop: Overton Park
Boy! Was it cold! (first really cold day this season) After a few more minutes at the park, we headed to…
Main Street, Memphis!
Can you tell we were having fun?
And, I mentioned it was cold, right? It got even colder…
(Last stop) By the Mississippi River:
It’s worth repeating, but this was a really fun session!
I love how this photo session really captures their life here in Memphis. Years from now, they will be able to look back at these photographs and see their LIFE, not just what they looked like in 2010.
Starting January 2011 I will start offering Your d’Lifeful Life Sessions. Stay tuned for the details and start daydreaming about your own session.

My 4 & a Half-er {Memphis, TN–Children’s Portraits}
Posted on December 4, 2010
Thanksgiving Week was a whirl-wind of family activity in Searcy, AR. But Saturday, all 9 of us headed up to Springfield, MO to celebrate my grandpa’s 80th birthday. We traveled 8 hours (round-trip) for 1.5 hours at the party. And it was so worth it.
But that Saturday was also the day my “baby”, my first-born, turned 4 and a half. We slipped out of the party for 5 minutes just the 2 of us to do his photo shoot.
He is such a big kid! He reads (beginning level). He loves Daddy, Super-heroes, Naomi, and school (in that order). Gideon is our extrovert. There will never be enough friends to play with for him.
His prayers are beautiful, filled with scripture, and a constant reminder that my job as his mother is not just for this life, but for eternity.
Gideon Michael blesses our lives every day and we can’t imagine life without him.
