Alana & Preston {You’ve been Shot!}–Memphis, TN Couple’s Photographer

Posted on May 31, 2010

Alana and Preston are moving on to a new part of their lives.  And moving.  What better way to wrap up a chapter in their lives than to get photographs taken?  I can’t think of one.  (Except maybe a restaurant tour of all of your favorite foods from the town you are leaving… but that doesn’t sound as healthy.)

Here’s your sneak peek:

Wishing you guys all the best in the next chapter of your lives!

More Images from my Workshop–Memphis, TN–Portrait Photography

Posted on May 21, 2010

I’m LOVING my class!!!

I’ve been better about posting my images over on facebook than here.

His Batman Face

Seventies Batman

Look!  A model who can follow directions!!! :)   Isn’t she pretty?  She’s my neighbor and all around good sport.

Also, stay tuned for some changes.  May 29th is an anniversary of sorts for me, and I’m thinking of doing a branding re-design then.  (I’ve already got my new look designed and I’m really wanting to show it off!!)

Thanks for looking!

The Light Workshop

Posted on May 4, 2010

After wining a “scholarship” to a workshop to teach me how to better manipulate natural light, I signed up for the class.

This week is my first week, and I’m learning SO much already.  I think this is partly because the first assignment and bonus assignment are both types of shots that I’ve never tried before.  And I’m loving being pushed outside my comfort zone!

Assignment 1:

Dramatic Light (shot indoor)

This was hard for me.  I did 5 different photo shoots in 2 days trying to get it right.  Of course, directing those shots was harder for me because I had absolutely NO voice for the last 5 days. :)

But, after trial and error and a chat with my teacher, I finally got it!

Bonus Assignment– Dramatic Side Lighting (indoors)

This photo came much easier to me.

I have been taking pictures of everyone in the family.  However, Naomi keeps ASKING me to take her photos.  So… I’m taking advantage of that! :)

That being said, this class will be going on for another 8 weeks.  If you are in my general area and are up for being a guinea pig… let me know.  (I don’t want the rest of the class to get jealous of my cute kids sick of seeing my kids.)
