The Spellings Family–Memphis, TN–Family Portraits
Posted on February 20, 2010
So I realized that I was suffering from “winter blues” (this was before Naomi’s hat arrived) and wondered how to push them away. Immediately I decided to host a give-away on my facebook fan page. The first person who could schedule a photo session for THIS WEEKEND got a FREE PHOTO SESSION. (See… it pays to be a fan of D’Lifeful Photography.)
Ainsley was quick to respond, and today, we met up at Shelby Farms to get some great photos of her lovely family.
Enjoy the Sneak Peak.

HeartSmiles–Memphis, TN–Children’s Portraits
Posted on February 18, 2010
As I mentioned in my earlier post today, I LOVE Etsy.
Back in January I came across a beautiful little shop called HeartSmiles. It does, indeed, give my heart smiles. I mean, I was a hat girl already, but these will turn even those people who don’t like hats into hat people.
Abbie, the haberdasher, and designer of all things HeartSmiles agreed to an exchange. She sent me a hat in exchange for the photos of Naomi wearing said hat. She gave me liberty to design my own hat. There is something about the customizable nature of Etsy items that turns me into a really indecisive person. A character trait I don’t usually possess. But after several e-mails back and forth, we came up with this hat. It has already been featured on Etsy!
The mail service was not our friend. The hat was supposed to arrive a week ago. But it finally came today. As soon as Naomi woke up, I loaded both kids in the car and we headed to Shelby Farms. (They have bison there!!! Who knew?)
Here are 3 of my favorite shots from today:

If you are looking for a cute way to brighten up grey weather… check out HeartSmiles. These hats are cute enough to smile away any winter blues. I know I already have images dancing around in my head for hats for next season. (and she’s working on summer items too!!)

Chimy’s Clips–Memphis, TN–Children’s Portraits

I am enamored with Etsy. Where else can you get customized, hand-made items that make your heart sing? I’m not sure. But Etsy is a wonderful, wonderful place. (le sigh)
I have had the privilege of partnering with Clarissa Padilla after running across her shop full of cute, hand-made hair clips.
My daughter picked out the hairbows below. She ADORES them.
I find that a hand-made accessory adds a nice touch to portraits. Texture, whimsy… so nice… and again… le sigh.
Check out Clarissa’s shop HERE.
She has her eye on children’s fashion and has created a whole host of barrettes to coordinate with great clothing lines found at Gymboree and Janie and Jack.
(I have another set of barrettes that I’ll photograph Naomi in as well. Stay tuned for those.)
