This morning I had a photo session with my dear friend from college, Dustin Vyers. We have been chatting on-line about photography for a bit. And today, we shot together (a very little).
Here are some of the shots I got of him. Then after I shot him, he came to my house and took pictures of my entire family!
You can check out Dustin’s photography at DV Design and Photography on facebook. It’s really cool.
And with no further ado, I give you… Dustin!

Enjoy!
(Pictures of the kids I worked with in the musical are coming!)
D’Lifefully Transparent**Life**
Posted on October 30, 2009
I have kept a family blog for years. However, when I decided that I was going to have an on-line photography presence, I took my family blog private.
Actually, I think I took it private about a month after writing a post about living our lives to bring Glory to God.
Over the past few months, a thought has been gnawing away at the back of my soul saying, “How is a private blog allowing your family’s journey to bring Glory to God?”
So, I sit here, typing out this first blog post for “D’Lifefully Transparent”.
We are a family in transition. JR is in school to get his Masters of Divinity at Harding Graduate School of Religion. Gideon started Carpenter’s Kids this fall. Naomi adds new words to her vocabulary every day. And I am learning the art of being God’s first, a wife to a husband who lives in another state for half the week, a mother of 2 toddlers, a photographer, and a children’s director. And we are living in my (more than gracious) parent’s house which means that I’m also a daughter and a cousin.
I make many mistakes. I have many successes.
And here, on this blog, I will live my life in transparency so that by my life and the life of my family, we may bring more Glory to God.

Today my family had a much-needed family outing. We loaded up in the car and headed to Mayflower, AR to a pumpkin patch. What a blast we had! Here’s a quick peek at 4 of the (over 200) pictures that I took.

Want me to take pictures of YOUR children?
Oh, and here’s a picture of my hunky husband. God is good to me!

Honeing my skills…

As a photographer, I am always reading about how to improve my photography. I talk with photographer friends (DVDesign), read blogs, read photography books in the bookstore…
and I subscribe to several web-sites that have lots of information on them.
Occasionally they will have give-aways that are too great for me not to enter. Case and point:
OH, how I’d love to be able to read through this incredible resource.

At least my new favorite shot of my daughter. I’m thinking of having this printed out fairly large. What do you think?
